St. John’s, Kentucky, 'Cuse, MS State All Shine

Dwight Hardy scored 12 points and St. John's used a balanced offense to beat Georgia 66-56 on Wednesday night in the DirecTV SEC/Big East Invitational at Madison Square Garden. In Game 2, freshman sensation John Wall scored a season-high 25 points, including 12 of his team's last 15, as the fourth-ranked Wildcats beat Connecticut. The third annual two-night men’s college basketball event (held Dec. 9-10 in New York City and Tampa, Fla. Dec. 10) featured six teams that reached the postseason in 2008-09. In Tampa, Mississippi State cruised past DePaul while sixth-ranked Syracuse defeated Florida to wrap up the event.
